PLANTS! We still have plants left from the plant sale. If you are interested, please email me at amanker@brussels42 no later than Friday morning.

Just a reminder that the BHS Horticulture plant sale is this Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm. The flowers are blooming and the vegetables look great. Four students have worked hard all semester to produce some wonderful plants. All money from the plant sale goes towards funding another year of learning in the Horticulture classroom.

Nova got to come to school today to participate in some science experiments in Zoology with the high schoolers. It was a tough job getting treats and pets but somebody's gotta do it!

ISO box flats for the plant sale on Saturday. Please email me if you have any to donate, amanker@brussels42.net.

BHS was all about the Trades in the month of April! We were lucky enough to have Nathan and Guy from Laborer 660 come talk to our students about what a career with them would look like on April 19th. Then on April 25th students that were interested were able to attend the Build My Future STL hands on trades expo. During this event our students got the opportunity to mingle with people within the trades business and also try out their own skills!

Happy Staff Appreciation Week!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
Thank you to all of our amazing teachers for everything that you do! We love and appreciate each and every one of you! <3

Good Morning!
Heather will be driving her route this afternoon, 05/06/24, so all children that usually ride her route will be getting home at regular times this afternoon. Thank you for your patience and your understanding!

On Monday, May 6th, 2024, there is a possibility that Bruce will be driving both his and Heather's afternoon route. If that is the case, he will drive his normal route and then continue with Heather's route. In that case, all children that normally ride Heather's bus will be getting home later. We ask that any parents that are able, to please make other arrangements for that afternoon. We will have a confirmation on Monday, May 6th, by 9 am, if Bruce will be driving both afternoon routes. We apologize for the inconvenience.

SCIENCE FAIR NIGHT
We would like to congratulate our two first place winners from the Science Fair this year. Jordan Hartle did her experiment on designing different shaped satellites to collect stardust. As Carl Sagan once said, "we're all made of star stuff". Jordan has an amazing love for space and we could use some more Carl's in the world. Alessa Ray dabbled in the world of biochemistry and tested different substances on cut apples to see if some would ripen faster than others. Turns out, citrus is your answer to keep your apples from turning brown. Alessa has such a love for science, and she is excited at the beginning of the school year about doing science experiments and the science fair. Keep up that enthusiasm Alessa. A special thanks to all the parents and staff that helped this year!

Brussels Horticulture class will be holding its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 11th from 9 am- 12 pm. We have a variety of tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and squash. There are also a variety of zinnias and marigolds. All proceeds go towards supplies for growing plants and maintaining the greenhouse.
