BRUSSELS CUSD 42

On Monday, Aug 29, 2022 local veterans headed for Springfield to board the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight to Washington D.C. The veterans included Bernie Snyders, Paul Droege, Gary Fortschneider, Ron Pohlman, Elden Kinder, Denny Tepen, Jon Fix, Paul Reichman, and Dennis Greenlief. They were given a warm send-off by the students and staff of Brussels Elementary School, Brussels High School, and St. Mary School. The veterans were led in a small parade by three Civics Club members as students of all three schools cheered and waved hand-drawn posters. At the end of the parade, each veteran was given a special care package put together by the members of Civics Club.
